Half Term Work

Been working on my assignments over the half term holiday, getting everything done over this week hopefully

Things that I have completed over the holidays:

• Finished my assignment A10 Culture Vulture (Task 1)
• Handed it in Monday 30th
• Managed to get a large portion of IME Web plan done
• Got a large portion of CISSY Web plan done

Progress update: Things to be completed:

• IME web plan to be finished and completed

• CISSY web plan to be finished and completed

New Assignment

Day 1: New Assignment for this week.
I have been given a new assignment (Culture Vulture). It is a task that needs you to look at a 20^th century design icon or product. Had to think of what I could do, here’s a few of what I fist thought of:

• Marcel Breuer
• Ross Lovegrove
• Bauhaus

However these were wrong, as I had read the assignment incorrectly, I chose the person not the product they were famous for. After a rethink I came up with these options:

• Swiss Army Knife
• E-type Jaguar
• Porsche
• Spitfire
• Guinness
• Mercedes Benz 300SL

But my final choice got the vote: Levi’s (Levi Strauss)

Day 2: Another dawn, another day

I am on the way on the second year of the course, completing a variety of tasks.

Tasks Completed/ Well on the way:

• Handed in my A8 CISSY assignment
• Finishing off the web plan of A7 IME
• Finishing off the web plan of A8 CISSY

Tasks that are on going/ feedback:

• From feedback/ Rewriting the structure of A8 CISSY Task 1
• Continuing with both web plans for A7 IME, A8 CISSY
• Continuing with research and write up of A10 (Culture Vulture)
  

I will add to the list as I think of some more tasks that need to be done; these are the most important at this time.

Completed Work: Edited

Day 1: Well finished off all work I needed to do for today, just got to start on my other assignments as i have been concentrating on one more than any other. I need to work on all of my assignments.

Day 2: Well what can we say, managed to finish my work on time. Handed it in today at the strike of noon, well 11.30am.

Feedback: Got some feedback this afternoon from my assignment. So here's a list of things to remember to do:

• Meet criteria
• Meet criteria
• Meet criteria
• Time Planning/ time management
• Use the ASSIGNMENT TEMPLATE correctly

I have heard that repeating things too many times is too much, the maximum or optimum number of repeations is 3. It's so that I remember to use the BTEC Critera correctly.


That’s enough of A9 TheBiz though. Let’s start something new for this week, to refresh with some other form of work.

• A7IME: Started the Web plan (Use Template)
• A8 CISSY: Start to write up the CSS Research

Day 1:
Well what can we say about today, remeber to hand in work 9.00am ( The Day to Remember).

To do List:

• Read through errors of Task 3
• Enter all details into Task 4, The Datebase file of Web design competiors
• Start Task 5 (Executive Summary)

Things Done:

• Database File, entered all details of Web Designers into a database file
• Progressing with Executive sumary

Day 2:
What I have managed to get done today:

• Finishing off Executive summary
• Researching costs involved in setup Freelance Design company ("Click Here to Donate")
• Started to have a look at CSS ( Cascading Style Sheets ), looking at the different levels of CSS. e.g level 1, 2, 2.1

Things to be doing over the next Week:

• Finish Executive sumary, hand in 9/10/06
• Rethink Action Plan to What days to set a side time
• Concentrate More on other assignments
• Start A7 IME
• Continue with A8 Cissy

The Blogger Returns

Day 1: Pretty hectic week to say the least, with a number of full stops, capital letters and commas, just some of punctuation used.

Basically what I mean is to concentrate on reading through work, making sure I have checked it. Not to think off the top of my head.

Things to improve on:

• Read other things, get a feel for words
• Use correct grammar

What I know I can do:

• Research
• Relevant Content (The content is there but needs to be in smaller, sharper sentences, not to run away.

This applies to all Tasks and assignments

Task 3: (Defining the roles of a team), I’ll only say one word Belbin Roles, who are you the choice is yours. Quiet surprised what role I was, a Completer Finisher / Team worker.

Lots of different roles on there worth a read if you’ve forgot who you are..

Day to REMEMBER 2/10/06 9.00

Day 2: A7 IME
The end is nigh …/ well not yet still at college, but it soon will be, a lot of information today, business plans and such like:

• Executive Summary

Apparently a brief summary of a business plan, never heard of it myself, but you learn something new everyday. I now know what it is, need to get on a do it.

Blogging Hell

Well how did it go this week I hear you Cry, reasonably well actuallyGetting the hang of this now, Lets get started then...

Day 1: Handed in work this morning 9.00am on the dot. Got some good feedback on my initial work for task 1 of the (A9) Assignment, so I'm pretty pleased, thought I'd check it through fully must not have done.Found some minor errors that need improving on, but hey not everybody speaks the Queens English, on a good note though it shows me where I'm going wrong.

Day 2: Didn't start as expect with Steve not being there, however got on with the task in hand, I must admit though i would have preferred to do (A9) Task 2, but other things have to be done.Found out that I need to be more confident when asking questions though, to come out and actually say what I mine, hopefully i can get over this and be confident enough to use my knowledge effectively communicating through my work.

That’s it for now….

Aghh: Where do I start

Don't really know how or what to start with, but here we go.
Currently started on the second year of my HND at Wakefield, past 2 days I've had to get back into the routine.

Been given three assignments to do already and its only the first two days, must be lucky, first of all I have to do some research on copyright, for my assignment A9 (TheBiz) , think this assignment will be fine, plenty of places to find info out there on the Internet.

The second assignment A8 (CISSY) from the title its about CSS, looking at first seems a little scary, but once discussed all was clear about the task in hand, but I suppose other questions will creep into my head in which i should have asked at the time but forget.

But you learn from you mistakes and try and further yourself by correcting them.

Assignment three is A9 (IME) , a project that looks quite interesting at first glance, this requires you to create a portfolio website, to house coursework and portfolio work and of course to feature my blog.

Should be a fun assignment to do, I'll say goodbye and get some work done
